MU President Congratulates Dr. Khaled El-Anany on His Election as Director-General of UNESCO

Dr. Essam Farahat, President of Minia University, extended his sincere congratulations to Dr. Khaled El-Anany on his well-deserved election as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), following the announcement of the results of the 222nd session of the Executive Board elections, held today at the organization’s headquarters in Paris.

Dr. Farahat praised this outstanding national achievement, which reflects the international community’s appreciation of Egypt’s leading civilizational and scientific stature. He described it as a testament to the success of Egypt’s political and diplomatic leadership in supporting national talent and enabling distinguished Egyptians to represent their country honorably on the global stage. He emphasized that this victory underscores the trust and confidence placed in Egypt and its capacity to contribute effectively to promoting the universal values of education, culture, and science.

The President of Minia University highlighted Dr. El-Anany’s distinguished professional career, noting his record of accomplishments and service in several high-level positions, including Minister of Antiquities and later Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. He also pointed to Dr. El-Anany’s esteemed academic standing as a Professor of Egyptology, and the numerous international honors and awards he has received in recognition of his contributions to preserving world heritage and promoting Egyptian civilization globally.
