Puplish date: 2025-09-14

High-level engagement underscores Egypt’s commitment to global academic partnerships and educational excellence under the National Strategy 2030.

The delegation from Minia University, led by its President, Professor Essam Farahat, and accompanied by Dr. Hossam Ramadan, Director of the International Cooperation Office, is actively participating in the 35th edition of the International Higher Education Exhibition (EAIE Conference & Exhibition). The event, organized by the European Association for International Education, is being held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from September 10 to 12, 2025, with participation from over 250 universities and academic institutions worldwide.

The Egyptian pavilion, which featured Minia University’s exhibit, received a visit from Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The pavilion also hosted high-level representatives from 24 public, private, and national universities, as well as delegates from the Supreme Council of Universities, the Authority for Supporting and Developing Universities, the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, and the Egyptian Cultural Office in Berlin. This broad participation reflects the qualitative development underway in Egypt’s higher education and scientific research system.

The Egyptian pavilion served as an ideal platform to highlight the pioneering experience of Egyptian universities in developing higher education, showcase distinguished academic programs, present international expansion plans, attract foreign students, and develop joint research projects. It also facilitated discussions on attracting branches of prestigious international universities to Egypt, thereby enhancing global competitiveness.

Professor Essam El-Din Sadek Farahat, President of Minia University, emphasized that participation in this international forum reflects the university’s vision of engaging with outstanding global experiences. He stated that the International Higher Education Exhibition encourages participants to embrace collaboration, partnership, and shared innovation. He also noted that Gothenburg, with its pioneering approach to sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation, is an ideal destination for the international education community to shape the future of higher education internationalization and develop innovative solutions to current challenges while building a shared vision for the future.

He added that this participation aligns with the Egyptian state’s strategy for academic openness to the world and enhancing the international standing of Egyptian education, in line with the goals of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. This strategy aims to improve the quality of academic outputs, expand cooperation with major international educational institutions, and bolster efforts to attract international students and export Egyptian educational expertise.

In closing, the President of Minia University affirmed that this international event represents an ideal opportunity to showcase the unprecedented achievements Egypt has made in developing higher education and scientific research, strengthen cooperation with global academic elites, and build bridges for knowledge and scientific exchange. This further solidifies Egypt’s position as a regional and international hub for education and innovation.
