MU President Visits Churches to Celebrate Christmas in a Gesture of Unity

Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat, the President of Minia University, along with a delegation from the university, visited the Coptic Orthodox Diocese, the Coptic Catholic Diocese, and the Second Evangelical Church in Minia city to extend congratulations to the Coptic brethren on the occasion of Christmas.

Accompanying the university president during these visits were Dr. Ayman Hassanein, the Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hossam Abd El Rahim, the General Coordinator of Student Activities, Dr. Bassem Mahmoud, the University Secretary-General, Mahmoud Al-Laithi, the Director of the President's Office General Administration, Ahmed Mahsoub, the Director of Public Relations, Faisal Omar, the Student Union President, and Sherine Hany, the Vice President of the Student Union.

The university president emphasized his pride in the strong bonds that unite Muslims and Christians, highlighting the religious tolerance that distinguishes the Egyptian people. He expressed his joy in sharing feelings of tolerance and affection among the children of the same nation.

Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat extended his congratulations to the Coptic brethren, praying to the Almighty to safeguard Egypt, preserve the unity and cohesion of its people, and for the state to continue, with the efforts of its Muslim and Christian citizens, to achieve development, reconstruction, prosperity, and for the political leadership to succeed in achieving a comprehensive renaissance for Egypt while maintaining the integrity of its territories.

Furthermore, the university president and his entourage visited the Coptic Catholic Church, where they received a detailed explanation from the church's pastor about the artistic works within the church, including ceiling paintings, icons, wood carvings, mosaic art, and stained-glass windows, executed by graduates of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Minia University, commending the precision, beauty, and magnificence of the works.

The churches warmly welcomed the visit of the university president, expressing their appreciation and gratitude for this kind gesture that reflects the spirit of national unity and cooperation among all Egyptians.

Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat, the President of Minia University, also sent a congratulatory telegram to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, on the occasion of Christmas, conveying his sincerest congratulations and best wishes for the celebration of Christmas. The Telegram expressed joy and solidarity, emphasizing love, tolerance, and cohesion among the nation's Muslims and Copts, while praying for progress, stability, goodness, and prosperity for Egypt under the wise leadership of His Excellency President Abd El Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic.
