MU Launches an integrated Convoy to Nasiriyah Village, Minia Governorate

Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Minia University, launched a convoy to the people of Nasiriyah village in Bani Mazar Center, within the framework of the presidential initiative "Decent Life “that targets the most underprivileged villages and provides a decent life with sustainable development for the group most in need in the governorates of Egypt. 

Prof. Dr. Essam Farahat, Minia University President, praised the fruitful cooperation between the university and the ministry in the community service and environmental development sector, pointing out that the convoy included a group of doctors of excellence in various medical specialists, and a team from faculties of Pharmacy, Nursing, Agriculture and Physical Education.

The convoy examined 680 cases in 13 different medical specialties (pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, Otorhinolaryngology,

ophthalmology, urology, general surgery, rheumatology and rehabilitation, internal medicine, chest, heart, Orthopedic, Dermatology, psychiatric and neurological diseases) and medicines were dispensed free of charge to patients.

Also, a student team from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Minia University, conducted qualitative swabs for non-communicable diseases such as 'diabetes and hypertension' for the people of the village, in addition to organizing a number of events and seminars on efforts to 'combat abuse and treat addiction'.
